How Men' Dress Shrits are Sized and Measured

Dress shirts are sized according to a man's neck measurement in inches. Sleeve lengths are measured from the midpoint of the back and shoulders to the wrist in inches. Generally, tall shirts start at a 35/36 inch sleeve length and the shirt tail is approximately 4 inches longer than standard sizes.   Big size shirts are cut fuller through the body of the dress shirt.

Dress shirts are available in the following sizes:

X = Big and Tall Size       X = Standard Size

Average Sleeve Lengths

All of the long sleeve dress shirts sleeve we stock feature what the menswear industry calls "average" sleeve lengths.  By average, we mean the sleeve is actually cut to the longer length, however, the sleeve may be adjusted to the shorter length.  How can this be?  The cuff features two buttons allowing for the cuff diameter to be tightened so that the cuff does not come down over the hand. 

Exact Sleeve Lengths

At Delbert's, you may order dress shirts in exact sleeve lengths from Gitman Shirt Company.  By exact, we mean the shirt sleeve is cut to a specific length with no adjustment.  Exact sleeve length shirts feature a single buttonon the cuff.
