The Austin Reed athletic cut model is trimmer cut in the sides of the coat and the suit trousers are smaller than a standard model suit. Specifically, there is an eight inch difference between the coat size and the corresponding trouser waist size. For example, a size 48 regular athletic cut suit will come with a trouser waist size of 40. Likewise the sides of the coat have been taper to correspond with the size 40 waist trouser. These Austin Reed suits are made of pure super 100’s wool. This fine fabric combines the softness silk with the durability and comfort of wool. These Austin Reed athletic cut suits are available in a two-button or three-button coat model. Both models feature a center vent in the back of the jacket. The coat models also have a modern traditional shoulder, plain edge lapels, breast welt pocket and two lower besom flap pockets. The suit trousers have double reverse pleats, on-seam pockets, extension waistband and belt loops. The trousers also are lined to knee with a generous crotch liner for added durability and less wrinkling. Austin Reed suits have been manufactured to allow for easy alterations. Generally, the sides of the coat can be taken up 2+ inches and let out up to 1 ¼ inches. The trousers may be let out or taken in approximately 2 inches.
