About Topcoats Today much of dress outerwear like topcoats are simply taken for granted.  These garments are designed with two distinct purposes in mind: protect you and protect your clothing.  More often times the latter of these two purposes is dismissed.  Few people would consider cleaning their fine tailored suit in the family washing machine, yet many men will wear their suit out into the elements with out a topcoat.  While a suit will ultimately dry, damage to the fabric and the materials used to give the suit its shape has already been done. Our Topcoat Selection At Delbert's, we offer topcoats in a wide range of fabrications ranging from wool and cashmere blended topcoats to the luxurious 100% pure cashmere topcoats.  If you are seeking the ultimate in protection from virtually anything mother nature can throw at you, try a Weather System topcoat.  Weather System is a wind and water resistant fabric created by applying a breathable membrane to the underside of the finest wool/cashmere blended topcoat.  However, if staying toasty warm in subzero cold is important, try a topcoat equipped with a rechargeable heated vest.  A rechargeable battery delivers up to 4 hours of deep gentle heat coming form the back of the vest that attaches to inside of our specially designed topcoats.

Determining Your Topcoat Size

Topcoats typically come in chest sizes just like a suit or a sportcoat.  Most topcoat manufacturers have adjusted the chest size of the topcoat to accommodate a suit jacket or sportcoat being worn underneath the topcoat.  With this in mind, you should buy the same size topcoat as you would a suit jacket or sportcoat.  Having to "go up a size" in a topcoat is the exception rather than the rule when purchasing a topcoat.  If you need help determining the appropriate suit size click here.

Topcoat Lengths and Models

At Delbert's, our topcoats come in long, standard and fingertip lengths.  Based upon a size 40 regular coat these lengths for long, standard and fingertip are approximately 45 inches, 40 inches, and 36 inches respectively.  Actual lengths of our topcoats may vary by specific style and manufacturer.
