The
Trouser Rise
You will find tailored
dress trousers (open ended or unhemmed) in regular rise, short
rise and long rise models to help assure you the best fit
possible. The trouser rise is depth in the crotch area.
Generally, the taller you are the longer the rise you need.
If you are unsure what rise you need, you should choose regular
rise. Pre-hemmed dress trousers like the Levi Action
Slack come in hemmed lengths. In pre-hemmed pants, the
rise gradually increases in length the longer the inseam. |
Trouser
Models Available
You will also find dress
and casual pants (trousers) available in both plain (also referred
to as flat front) and pleated models. In most cases, a plain
front trouser will be cut trimmer in the high area than pleated
trousers. For pleated trousers to look the best with the pleats
laying flat, you will need to have the waistband parallel to the
floor. If the waistband sits lower on your waist (i.e. under
your stomach) chances are the pleats will gap open. In such
an instance, plain or flat front trousers may be your best option.
